Hoy en Metal Music Clan tenemos el honor de presentar el que para nosotros es sin duda uno de los mejores trabajos de Pagan Black Metal del año 2020, "From Ruins of the Ancient Dark Ages"de CROWN OF FALLEN HEROES, desde Mairipora (Brasil).
Heathen Mist, el fundador y miembro principal de la banda nos responde esta entrevista hablándonos de su proyecto , activo desde 2004 y de este álbum  con una producción musical, ambiente y sonido épico excelente.

1. Metal Music Clan da la bienvenida a Heathen Mist y Crown of Fallen Heroes. Cuéntanos un poco sobre tu historia: ¿Dónde, cómo y por qué nació Crown of Fallen Heroes?

Heathen Mist: ¡Hey, gracias por apoyarnos desde España!

Bueno, mi historia en el metal extremo comienza entre 1994 y 1995, fue cuando tenía unos dieciséis años y fui testigo de la ola más fértil de lanzamientos de Black Metal de todos los tiempos, me impresionaron esas atmósferas majestuosas y odiosas. 

Tres años después, comencé a tocar el bajo y me uní a una banda de Black Metal local durante dos años increíbles. Entonces, comencé a forjar Crown of Fallen Heroes en 2004 como “banda de un solo componente”, era la manera de expresar mis visiones y todo mi respeto a todos los que vinieron antes que nosotros.

2. ¿Quiénes son los responsables de este proyecto musical?

Heathen Mist: Soy el miembro fundador y grabé yo todo en el primer álbum. Posteriormente, en el año de 2017, el experimentado músico, gran amigo y baterista “Domminus” se incorporó para grabar batería y teclados. Hizo una contribución increíble al nuevo álbum y ahora es parte de Crown of Fallen Heroes.

3. Ocho años después del álbum debut "Forging a New Hope", estás de regreso con un excelente trabajo como "From Ruins of the Ancient Dark Ages". Cuéntanos un poco sobre lo que podemos encontrar en este álbum. ¿Estás satisfecho con el resultado final?

Heathen Mist: "From Ruins of the Ancient Dark Ages" es un álbum muy bien estructurado y ofrece variantes del sonido de Crown of Fallen Heroes con una atmósfera mística y épica interesante. Es básicamente un álbum épico de Pagan Black Metal, pero lleno de diferentes elementos, voces limpias ocasionales, coros y guitarras acústicas.

Sí, estamos totalmente satisfechos con el resultado del álbum, especialmente porque trabajamos muy duro durante unos tres años de grabaciones y ajustes antes de su lanzamiento.

4. ¿Cuáles son tus inspiraciones para componer letras y música?

Heathen Mist: Hay diferentes fuentes de inspiración: suelo escuchar los álbumes clásicos de metal extremo de los 90 y también bandas sonoras épicas, música clásica y folk, etc.

Un puñado de inspiraciones en el concepto lírico proviene de la historia antigua y los libros de texto míticos, la filosofía y las películas épicas ... Sin embargo, la influencia fortuita que alimenta mi espíritu está en la naturaleza y sus elementos, observando paisajes maravillosos primitivos, contemplando la llegada de una tormenta, el sonido de las olas del mar rompiendo contra las rocas, etc ...

La música de la Crown of Fallen Heroes está profundamente arraigada, donde encontré una manera de seguir adelante.

5. Crown of Fallen Heroes ha tocado en festivales como el poderoso Thorhammerfest de Sao Paulo. Cuéntanos un poco sobre tus experiencias en vivo.

Heathen Mist: Tuvimos la primera y única experiencia en vivo en el escenario en 2011. El festival Thorhammer es el evento más importante en la escena Pagan / Folk metal aquí en Brasil y fue una gran noche. Sin embargo, 

Crown of Fallen Heroes nació como una "banda de un solo componente" y las experiencias en directo suenan un poco estresantes, me pongo bastante ansioso antes de los festivales y no lo disfruto particularmente. De todos modos, decidimos tocar algunos directos este año para ver cómo va. Mucha gente quiere ver Crown of Fallen Heroes y nos estamos preparando cuidadosamente lo mejor que podemos.

6. ¿Puedes darnos una explicación sobre las siguientes canciones de "From Ruins of the Ancient Dark Ages"?

Heathen Mist: Hay un núcleo conceptual para el álbum y todas las letras basadas en mi respetuosa devoción por la ascendencia y la naturaleza, un paralelo entre el pasado y el presente.

* The Golden Mists of Dawn :

Heathen Mist: El álbum comienza con una introducción que incluye distantes "llamadas limpias" y guitarras acústicas que preparan al oyente para una atmósfera y transporte muy interesante en medio de una batalla.

* From Ruins of the Ancient Dark Ages:

Heathen Mist: esta canción comienza con un ritmo rápido y violento y muestra voces limpias y épicas en el caos.

Se trata del legado del coraje, la sabiduría y la ira. Los sentimientos y valores traídos a nuestro tiempo por una presencia espiritual, "acechando el presente como fantasmas en la niebla".

* Wrath from Ancestral Lands:

Heathen Mist: comienza con un poderoso equilibrio de variaciones rítmicas ...

Se trata de las obras de nuestros antepasados; comienza con una narración sobre la conquista a través de una batalla violenta y termina con las virtudes que quedan en nuestros corazones.

* Abreast with Honor and Triumph:

Heathen Mist: esta canción contiene ritmos más lentos, un coro brillante y una pieza / solo de guitarra acústica en el medio.

La letra trata simplemente de la forma orgullosa en que vivimos con nuestros propios valores como una resistencia en este indigno presente.

* Wandering Through Foggy Landscapes:

Heathen Mist: Un interludio acústico compuesto en un día lluvioso de frío invierno . Aporta un momento de calma al álbum con un sonido de fondo o lluvia.

* Forest of Pagan Memories:

Heathen Mist: Mi canción favorita: comienza con una narración mística y fría sobre un paseo por el bosque para descubrir mi historia. Otro punto a destacar son los pasajes del piano y fue la inspiración divina para mí. Una oda a mis visiones en una escena hipnótica muy bien detallada, llena de simbolismos y la más pura conexión con la naturaleza. Un largo viaje a nuestra ascendencia.

* Where Crimson Sky Meets the Darkness:

Heathen Mist: Este es el epílogo atmosférico del álbum.

Compuse esta canción hace mucho tiempo con música ambiental atmosférica Darkwave, y pensé que era una canción necesaria para terminar el álbum.

7. Creemos que Brasil tiene una escena fuerte a nivel de bandas y eventos Pagan / Epic / Folk Metal, etc ... ¿Cómo ves la escena en tu país?

Heathen Mist: Bueno, creo que es lo mismo en todas partes. Hay pocas personas, sellos y bandas serios involucrados al 100% en un propósito real, pero mucha gente simplemente se divierte o se acerca a esta ola por oportunismo.

Aquí en Brasil, nuestras raíces musicales están más arraigadas en la escena underground del metal extremo y siempre ha existido una resistencia fuerte desde los 90 o incluso principios de los 80, cuando el poderoso Sarcófago creó un estilo musical único e influyó en tantas bandas de todo el mundo. Desde entonces, tenemos muchas grandes bandas alejadas de los principales medios de comunicación y cosas así.

8. Danos una opinión personal sobre lo siguiente:

-Paganismo:

Heathen Mist: El paganismo es simplemente la esencia y la conexión con nuestra ascendencia a través de nuestra relación con la naturaleza primitiva; es nuestro conocimiento empírico y la forma de mantener vivas nuestras virtudes y valores.

-Naturaleza:

Heathen Mist: El templo primitivo de donde vino todo el conocimiento a lo largo de nuestra existencia. La sagrada madre de todas las cosas. Creo que la naturaleza fue la inspiración divina para la creación de “dioses o diosas” con sus poderosas manifestaciones y elementos aún desvelados.

-Civilización moderna:

Heathen Mist: Lamentablemente, podemos ver nuestros valores destrozados por la degeneración de nuevas políticas, creando hombres débiles y obligándonos a aceptar todo lo peor de diferentes culturas en nuestras vidas.

Este es el avance rápido y peligroso hacia nuestra extinción, no como humanos sino como hombres orgullosos y nobles.

9. Nombra:

Heathen Mist: Es muy difícil mencionar un solo libro: tal vez “Así habló Zaratustra” de Nietzschie.

-Una película:

Heathen Mist: Braveheart (“Coração Valente” en portugués) es la película más inspiradora y perfecta de la historia.

-Un disco de Metal clásico:

Heathen Mist: Lo primero que me viene a la mente: Blood and Iron de Bathory.

Interview to CROWN OF FALLEN HEROES (Brazil) by Metal Music Clan

Today at Metal Music Clan we have the honor of presenting what for us is undoubtedly one of the best Pagan Black Metal works of the year 2020, "From Ruins of the Ancient Dark Ages" by CROWN OF FALLEN HEROES, from Mairipora (Brazil ). Heathen Mist, the founder and main member of the band, answers this interview telling us about his project, active since 2004 and about this album with an excellent musical production, atmosphere and epic sound. Without further ado we leave you with the words of Heathen Mist .. 

 1. Metal Music Clan welcomes Heathen Mist and Crown of Fallen Heroes. Tell us a bit about your history: where, how and why was Crown of Fallen Heroes born?

Heathen Mist: Hey man, thanks for supporting us from Spain! 

Well, my history into extreme metal starts between 1994 and 1995 when I was about sixteen years old and witnessed a most fertile wave of black metal releases ever, I was impressed with that hateful majestic atmospheres. Three years later, I started playing bass guitar and joined in a local black metal band for amazing two years. Then, I started to forge Crown of fallen heroes from 2004 as “one man band”, it was the way to express my visions and all my respect to all those who came before us.

2. Who are responsible for this musical project?

Heathen Mist: I’m the founding member and recorded everything in the first album. Later, in the year of 2017, the experienced musician, great friend and drummer “Domminus” joined to record drums and keyboards. He gave an awesome contribution to the new album and now he is a part of Crown of fallen heroes.

3. Eight years after the debut album "Forging a New Hope”, you are back with an excellent work like "From Ruins of the Ancient Dark Ages". Tell us a little about what we can find in this album. Are you satisfied with the final result?

Heathen Mist: “From ruins of the ancient dark ages” is a very well structured album and offers variants of the Crown of fallen heroes sound with an interesting mysterious and epic atmosphere. It’s basically an epic pagan blackened metal album but full of different elements, occasional clean vocals, choruses and acoustic guitars. 

Yeah, we’re totally pleased with the album result, especially because we worked very hard during about three years of recordings and adjustments before being released.

4. What are your inspirations for composing lyrics and music?

Heathen Mist: There are different sources of inspiration: I usually listen to the classic extreme metal albums from 90’s and also epic soundtracks, classical and folk music, etc…

A handful of inspirations into the lyrical concept comes from ancient history and mythic textbooks, philosophy and epic movies… However, the fortuitous influence that feeds my spirit is into nature and its elements, observing primitive wonderful landscapes, beholding the coming of a storm, the sound of the ocean waves breaking against the rocks, etc…

The Crown of fallen heroes music is deeply ingrained, think I already found a way to follow on. 

5. Crown of Fallen Heroes has played festivals like Sao Paulo's mighty Thorhammerfest - tell us a bit about your live experiences.

Heathen Mist: We had the first and only live experience on stage in 2011. Thorhammer fest is the most important event into pagan/ folk metal scene here in Brazil and it was fucking great night. However, Crown of fallen heroes was born as “one man band” and live experiences sounds a bit stressful, I get quite anxious before the festivals and I don’t particularly enjoy it. Anyway, we decided to play a few live shows this year to see how it goes. A lot of people want to see Crown of fallen heroes and we’re carefully preparing the best we can.

6. Can you give us an explanation about the following songs from "From Ruins of the Ancient Dark Ages"?

Heathen Mist: There is a conceptual nucleus for the album and all the lyrics based on my respectful devotion to ancestry and nature, a parallel between past and present.

* The Golden Mists of Dawn:

Heathen Mist: The album stars out with an intro including distant “clean callings” and acoustic guitars that readies the listener to a very interesting atmosphere and transport in the midst of a battle.

* From Ruins of the Ancient Dark Ages:

Heathen Mist: This song starts with a fast and violent rhythm and shows epic clean vocals into chaos.

Is about the legacy of courage, wisdom and wrath. The feelings and values brought to our time by a spiritual presence, “haunting the present like ghosts in the fog.”

* Wrath from Ancestral Lands:

Heathen Mist: It starts in a powerful balance of rhythmic variations…

This is about the deeds of our ancestors; it starts with a narrative about conquest through a violent battle and ends with the virtues that remains into our hearts.

* Abreast with Honor and Triumph:

Heathen Mist: This song contains more slow rhythms and a brilliant chorus and acoustic guitar piece/ solo in the middle.

The lyrics is simply about the proud way we live with our own values as a resistance into this unworthy present days.

* Wandering Through Foggy Landscapes:

Heathen Mist: An acoustic interlude composed on a cold winter rainy day. It brings some calm moment into the album with a background sound or rain.

* Forest of Pagan Memories:

Heathen Mist: My favorite song: It starts in a mystic and cold narration about a walking to the forest to find out my history. Another highlight is the piano passages and it was the divine inspiration for me. An ode to my visions in a very well detailed hypnotic scene, full of symbolisms and the purest connection with nature. A long Journey to our ancestry.

* Where Crimson Sky Meets the Darkness:

Heathen Mist: This is the atmospheric epilogue of the album. 

I composed this song a long time ago to atmospheric ambient darkwave music, but I thought it was a necessary song to end the album.

7. We believe that Brazil has a strong scene at the level of Pagan/Epic/Folk Metal bands and events, etc ... How do you see the scene in your country?

Heathen Mist: Well, I think is the same everywhere. There are few serious people, labels and bands involved 100% into a real purpose, but so many people just having some fun or playing this wave for opportunism. 

Here in Brazil our musical roots are more ingrained into the underground extreme metal scene and it always has been strongest resistance since 90’s or even early 80’s, when the mighty Sarcofago created an unique musical style and influenced so many bands around the world. Since then, we have many great bands away from the mainstream media or something.

8. Give us a personal opinion on the following:

-Paganism:

Heathen Mist: Paganism is simply the essence and connection with our ancestry through our relation with the primitive nature; is our empirical knowledge and the way of keeping alive our virtues and values.

-Nature:

Heathen Mist: The primitive temple from where all knowledge came throughout our existence. The sacred mother of all things. I think nature was the divine inspiration for creating “gods or goddesses” with its powerful manifestations and elements still unveiled.

-Modern civilization:

Heathen Mist: Sadly, we can see our values smashed by the degeneration of new policies, creating weak men and forcing us to accept all the worse from different cultures in our lives. 

This is the fast and dangerous progress to our extinction, not as humans but as proud and noble men.

9. Name:

-A book:

Heathen Mist: Very hard to mention only one book: maybe “Thus Spoke Zarathustra” by Nietzschie.

-A movie:

Heathen Mist: Braveheart (“Coração Valente” in Portuguese) is the most inspiring and perfect movie ever! 

-A classic Metal music record:

Heathen Mist: The first came to my mind: Blood and Iron by Bathory.

R: This year I’m focusing on the live shows and I’ll probably composing new songs for a new album… but first and most of all… hoping to heal our wounds and attempt gradually to rebuild our normal life. WE NEED BACK OUR FREEDOM!!!

Interview to MACABRE OMEN (Greece) by Metal Music Clan (Spain).

 Between the early and mid-90s, on the legendary island of Rhodes, MACABRE OMEN was born, an impressive epic Pagan / Black Metal band worthy of the ancient gods of Olympus.
After his previous and brilliant work "gods of war - at war" (2015), a compendium of the darkest and most excellent Hellenic battle hymns, MACABRE OMEN presents his new work "Anamneses" (2020).

It is an honor for Metal Music Clan to offer you an interview with a great band like MACABRE OMEN and the words of its creator Alexandros.

1.Welcome MACABRE OMEN to Metal Music Clan. Could you tell us a bit about the history of the band and why did you decide the name MACABRE OMEN? When, why and where was the band formed?

XAIPE! The idea to form this band was sometime around 1993 but it only became a reality in 1994. The band hails from Hellas` Isle of the Sun - Rhodes and the motivation behind it were three young individuals obsessed with the black metal scene of those days and the hunger to perform that art itself at any cost. There is a lengthy and detailed biography in the booklet of the new release "Anamneses" with anecdotes from those long forgotten years.

2.Which is the current line-up of the band? Could you do a brief presentation of the members?

Currently as it stands the band consist of myself Alexandros (Everything) as the original member and driving force of this horde and TJF Vallely (Drums and percussive instruments) who has been a member for almost a decade now. There were other members that were part of this establishment in the past but I believe that the line up now is the one that compliments the band mostly.

3.Present us your recent album "Anamneses" (2020). What can we find in this work? Are you satisfied with final results?

"Anamneses" is a type of mini album that contains only one new brand long epic track entitled "Anamneses from the Past (Sirens Calling)" and all the demo and 7" material from the mid 90s in remastered form. The idea behind this release was to celebrate the 25 years of the band`s existence and at the same time introduce a new track (the longest one yet for the band) to use as a bridge between the previous album "Gods of War - At War" and what is yet to come. I am personally satisfied with the results which for me is the primary if not only goal. The music is for myself/ourselves first and then for anyone else who wishes to join through this epic journey through the "ancient".

4.What are your inspirations to write music and lyrics?. Why a band inspired by Greek mythology?

The inspiration to write music is and has always been pain, hate, sadness, honour, power, darkness and spirituality to name but a few factors. I can most definitely not compose any music when I am in a pleasant / positive mood but this is seldomly the case anyway. I was born and raised in Hellas and the ancient history, values, mythology and ideas have always fascinated me from a young age. Combining inspiration with this type of interest and last but not least life experiences accumulated over the years seems like the right formula to craft my art and express those feelings.

5. How about your concerts? Talk to us a bit about your concerts and live experiences.

There have never been any concerts or plans for a concert at this very stage.

6. Please, could you give us a brief explanation about the next lyrics of MACABRE OMEN "Anamneses"?:

This is an interesting question and albeit a unique one even for me. Unfortunately I do not want to go too in depth with lyrics of tracks since they are personal most of the times and are written for my own benefit. However for this occcassion I will write some brief words against those tracks. 

1.Anamneses from the Past (Sirens Calling) [brand new track for 2020]

This is a very personal song but one can most definitely read the pain and sorrow through the lyrics but also the catharsis achieved through them until the very last word. One needs to get to the lowest stage (the Underworld) in order to reach the top of any Mountain. I feel like I am on the top again after crafting and weaving this track for the past 3 years.

2.Olympus, Mountain of the Ancient Gods [Promo 1996]

The Ancient Gods are here and look upon us if we look towards them.

3.Anamneses from the Past (Sirens Calling [Promo 1996]

The one and only track composed by one of the previous members not in the band any longer. The track was experimental during those early years and a one off.

4.The Waltz of the Nereids, of the Dryads, of the Nymphs [Split 7" 1997]

A track inspired by loneliness and sorrow.

5.The Past, is the Future, of the Present [recorded in 1998 for Split 7" 1999]

Without a solid Past there is no Future or Present for that matter.

6.Voor Donker Zullen We Heersen [recorded in 1999 for Split cd 2000]

Simple... Before Darkness We Shall Reign.

7.We Won With War [recorded in 1999 for Split cd 2000]

A track showcasing the resilience of the Hellene over the years, we all need to be fighters to survive this world we live in even for a brief time.

6.MACABRE OMEN is a band inspired by history, paganism and the Ancient world.

Could you give us a personal opinion about the following?

-Nature: If I seek answers in life I find half of them in nature. The other half I find by gazing through the fabric of spacetime. 

-Ancient Gods: We are Them, we just don`t know it.

-Modern day civilization: Most definitely not for me but Nature will destroy that at some point, Nature always prevails.

7.Tell us:

-A historical place of your country to visit: The Isle of the Sun Rhodes, the "Spear" of the Dodecanese, I would start there and visit the ancient cities and Necropolis.

-A traditional drink and food in your area: Souma of Rhodos with fresh fish from the Aegean grilled on charcoal.

-A book to recommend: A Brief History of Time by Stephen Hawking

9.Future plans and projects?

For now the main aim is to focus on the forthcoming 3rd opus which I would personally wish to be the biggest and most epic album I could possible create. Once this is achieved I would probably close the chapter for this band and move on to future projects whatever they may be at that point in time.

Entre principios y mediados de los 90, en la legendaria isla de Rodas, nació una banda como MACABRE OMEN, impresionante formación de  Pagan/Black Metal épico digna de los antiguos dioses del Olimpo.

Tras su anterior  y brillante trabajo "gods of war - at war" (2015), compendio de los más oscuros y excelentes himnos de batalla helenos, MACABRE OMEN nos presenta su nuevo trabajo "Anamneses" (2020).

Es un honor para Metal Music Clan ofreceros una entrevista a una gran banda como MACABRE OMEN y las palabras de su creador Alexandros.

1.Sed bienvenidos MACABRE OMEN a Metal Music Clan. ¿Podéis contarnos un poco la historia de la banda y por qué te decidisteis el nombre MACABRE OMEN para esta? ¿Cuándo, por qué y dónde se formó la banda?

¡XAIPE! La idea de formar esta banda fue en algún momento cercano a 1993, pero solo se hizo realidad en 1994. La banda es oriunda de Rodas la isla del sol de Hellas y la motivación detrás de ella fueron tres jóvenes obsesionados con la escena black metal de aquellos días y el hambre de interpretar ese arte por ellos mismos a cualquier precio. Hay una biografía extensa y detallada en el folleto del nuevo lanzamiento "Anamneses" con anécdotas de esos años olvidados.

2. ¿Cuál es la formación actual de la banda? ¿Podéis hacer una breve presentación de los miembros?

Actualmente, tal como están las cosas, la banda consiste en mí mismo Alexandros ( para todo) como el miembro original y la fuerza impulsora de esta horda y TJF Vallely (Batería e instrumentos de percusión) quien ha sido miembro durante casi una década ahora. Hubo otros miembros que formaron parte de esta fundación en el pasado, pero creo que la formación ahora es la que más agradece la banda.

3. Presentadnos vuestro reciente disco "Anamneses" (2020). ¿Qué podemos encontrar en este trabajo? ¿Estáis satisfechos con el resultado final?

"Anamneses" es un tipo de mini álbum que contiene solo una nueva pista épica de larga duración titulada "Anamneses from the Past (Sirens Calling)" y toda la demos y el material 7 "de mediados de los 90 en forma remasterizada. 

La idea detrás este lanzamiento fue para celebrar los 25 años de existencia de la banda y al mismo tiempo presentar una nueva pista (la más larga hasta ahora para la banda) para usar como puente entre el álbum anterior "Gods of War - At War" y el que está por venir. Personalmente estoy satisfecho con los resultados, que para mí es el objetivo principal, si no el único. La música es para mí / nosotros primero y luego para cualquier otra persona que desee unirse a este viaje épico a través de lo "antiguo".

4. ¿Cuáles son tus inspiraciones para escribir música y letras ?. ¿Por qué una banda inspirada en la mitología griega?

La inspiración para escribir música es y siempre ha sido dolor, odio, tristeza, honor, poder, oscuridad y espiritualidad, por nombrar solo algunos factores. Definitivamente no puedo componer música cuando estoy de buen humor / positivo pero, de todos modos, esto rara vez es el caso. Nací y crecí en Hellas y la historia antigua, los valores, la mitología y las ideas siempre me han fascinado desde muy joven. Combinando inspiración con este tipo de interés y por último y no menos importante, las experiencias de vida acumuladas a lo largo de los años me parecen la fórmula correcta para crear mi arte y expresar esos sentimientos.

5. ¿Qué hay de vuestros conciertos? Hábladnos un poco de vuestras experiencias en directo.

Nunca ha habido conciertos ni planes para un concierto dentro de esta escena.

6. Por favor, ¿Podéis darnos una breve explicación sobre las letra de MACABRE OMEN para "Anamneses" ? :

Esta es una pregunta interesante y exclusiva para mí. Desafortunadamente, no quiero profundizar demasiado en las letras de las pistas, ya que son personales la mayoría de las veces y están escritas para mi propio beneficio. Sin embargo por esto en ocasiones escribiré unas breves palabras en contra de esas pistas.

1.Anamneses from the Past (La llamada de las Sirenas) [nueva pista para 2020]:

Esta es una canción muy personal, pero definitivamente se puede leer el dolor y la tristeza a través de la letra, pero también la catarsis lograda a través de ella hasta la última palabra. Uno necesita llegar al nivel más bajo (el inframundo) enpara llegar a la cima de cualquier Montaña. Siento que estoy en la cima nuevamente después de crear y tejer esta pista durante los últimos 3 años.

2.Olympus, Mountain of the Ancient Gods (Olimpo, la montaña de los dioses antiguos) [Promo 1996]

Los Dioses Antiguos están aquí y nos miran si nosotros los miramos.

3. Aria maldita [Promo 1996]

La única pista compuesta por uno de los miembros anteriores que ya no está en la banda. La pista fue experimental durante esos primeros años y fue única.

4.The Waltz of the Nereids, of the Dryads, of the Nymphs (El vals de las nereidas, de las dríadas, de las ninfas) [Split 7 "1997]

Una pista inspirada en la soledad y el dolor.

Una pista que muestra la resistencia de los helenos a lo largo de los años, todos necesitamos ser luchadores para sobrevivir en este mundo en el que vivimos, incluso por un breve tiempo.

6.MACABRE OMEN es una banda inspirada en la historia, el paganismo y el mundo antiguo.

¿Podría darnos una opinión personal sobre lo siguiente?

-Naturaleza: si busco respuestas en la vida encuentro la mitad de ellas en la naturaleza. La otra mitad la encuentro mirando a través del tejido del espacio-tiempo.

-Dioses Antiguos: Nosotros somos Ellos, simplemente no lo sabemos.

-Civilización moderna: Definitivamente no para mí, pero la naturaleza destruirá eso en algún momento, la naturaleza siempre prevalece.

7.Nombrad:

-Un lugar histórico de vuestro país para visitar: La Isla del Sol, Rodas, la "Lanza" del Dodecaneso, empezaría por allí y visitaría las ciudades antiguas y la Necrópolis.

-Una bebida y comida tradicional en vuestro área: Souma de Rodas con pescado fresco del Egeo a la parrilla sobre carbón.

-Un libro para recomendar: Una breve historia del tiempo de Stephen Hawking

9.Planes y proyectos futuros?

Por ahora, el objetivo principal es centrarme en el próximo tercer trabajo, que personalmente me gustaría que fuera el álbum más grande y épico que pudiera crear. Una vez logrado esto, probablemente cerraría el capítulo de esta banda y pasar a proyectos futuros, sean los que sean en ese momento.

ENTREVISTA A MORTIIS (Noruega) By Metal Music Clan (Spanish version)

Finales de los 80 y principios de los 90 en la gélida Noruega.

De las raíces del Black Metal y el Dark Ambient nacía un nuevo sonido que iba a dar vida a las más oscuras criaturas de la literatura fantástica y mitológica, la hechicería y el mundo gótico y medieval, nacía el Dungeon Synth o sintetizador de mazmorra.

Y detrás de este nacimiento el nombre artístico de su indiscutible creador, MORTIIS, el hombre tras la máscara del duende oscuro, que fue miembro fundador de los legendarios Emperor y que tras dejar la banda comenzó su propio camino en solitario hacia un nuevo rumbo.

Es un honor para Metal Music Clan entrevistar a MORTIIS y presentar su reciente gran obra "Spirit Of Rebellion", trabajo donde retorna al viejo sonido de sus primeras etapas o "eras" después de una prolífica carrera musical donde ha ido abarcando numerosos estilos dentro del sonido electrónico, el Rock industrial, el Darkwave y el estilo Gótico ambiental.

1.Mortiis acaba de lanzar su último trabajo en Enero de 2020, titulado Spirit Of Rebellion, volviendo a las raíces musicales de sus primeros álbumes de Dungeon Synth, siendo una continuación y expansión de Era I "Ånden som Gjorde Opprør" (1994).

Preséntanos tu nuevo trabajo y cuéntanos qué podemos encontrar en él.

-Todo empezó como una reinterpretación de mi álbum de 1994 "Ånden som Gjorde Opprør", pero rápidamente se convirtió en un álbum propio, ya que comencé a agregar todo tipo de nuevas melodías, ritmos, percusión,coros y mucha música nueva en 
general, además de cambiar mucho los arreglos. Después de un tiempo me di cuenta de que estaba creando un nuevo disco.


2. ¿Qué tal el trabajo realizado por Omnipresence / Dead Seed records? ¿Estás satisfecho con el resultado final?

- Sí, creo que Dead Seed hizo un buen trabajo. El álbum se ve genial. Ahí es donde Dead Seed es bueno, haciendo un buen trabajo de empaque.

3. ¿Cuál es la razón por la cual Mortiis ha reanudado el sonido de sus orígenes con Spirit Of Rebellion "?

- Era el momento justo. Mientras aún hacíamos la música de tipo metal industrial, estaba pensando mucho en recuperar la imagen de la máscara, y una vez que decidimos darle a la banda un descanso, pensé que sería un buen momento para comenzar de nuevo a realizar algo solo , y obviamente era natural para mí volver a mis raíces en ese punto. Todo parecía suceder por una razón, así que eso fue realmente bueno.

4.En 2019, Mortiis realizó una gran gira por el norte de Europa y recientemente ha recorrido Estados Unidos.
¿Cómo ha ido la experiencia? ¿Algún recuerdo bueno, malo o anécdota para compartir de tus últimos directos?

- Cierto, realmente he viajado por todo el mundo y recorrido los EE. UU. En 2019 y a principios de este año también. Por contaros, creo que el incidente en Ecuador donde pensamos que estábamos siendo secuestrados
por el promotor es destacable , o en Bolivia cuando el promotor se había emborrachado con Whisky durante el espectáculo, y también se suponía que nos llevaría de regreso al aeropuerto justo después de la gira a coger el avión para el próximo espectáculo, y condujo el coche demasiado rápido para que este se descompusiera en medio del barrio pobre de La Paz, fue memorable, ¡jaja! Cogimos el avión, pero solo porque fuimos
capaces de llamar a un taxi que pasó, lo cual fue muy afortunado.

5. ¿Cuáles fueron las inspiraciones de ayer y  hoy más importantes para forjar la historia de Mortiis y componer grandes temas como Dark Horizons o Visions of a Ancient Future?

En los viejos tiempos, estaba realmente inspirado por DEAD CAN DANCE, TANGERINE DREAM, KLAUS SCHULZE, solo música atmosférica en general. Pero no sabía nada de tocar o de producción musical, así que nunca pude copiar adecuadamente de estos artistas de ningún modo ... la música se volvió algo muy honesto y personal debido a eso.

6. ¿Por qué un título como Spirit of Rebellion para este álbum?

- Es un homenaje al álbum que originalmente se suponía que era una interpretación de "Ånden som Gjorde Opprør", que significa "El espíritu de la Rebelión" 
Pensé que era lo más acertado eligir este título ya que era algo que yo consideraba cercano a mi.

7. Cuéntanos un poco sobre tu libro "El secreto de mi reino" y lo que podemos encontrar en él.

- Es una colección de escritos, textos, letras, de entre 1992 y 1999, y conjuntamente cuentan una especie de historia, mapas, el universo paralelo, en los que Mortiis basó
todos los álbumes de al Era 1, conceptualmente ... también tiene muchas ilustraciones, y puedo agregar que todas las reediciones en los últimos años, también están basadas en ese mundo.

8.Mortiis es el creador indiscutible del Dungeon Synth. ¿Sigues de cerca los nuevos proyectos y creaciones que se están desarrollando en este entorno musical?

- Para ser sincero, no lo hago. No tengo tiempo. Intento ver algunas cosas de vez en cuando, y he realizado directos con varios de ellos, como Old Tower y Northfalke ellos son realmente buenos. 
La mayoría de ellos no parecen hacer ningún espectáculo en vivo. Traté de contactar con muchos de ellos para la reciente gira por los Estados Unidos, pero en su mayor parte no pudieron o no tocaban en vivo.

9.Mortiis nació de la atmósfera oscura del Black Metal con Emperor y derivó hacia el mundo fantástico del Dark Ambient, mucho más personal y marcado por diferentes etapas o Eras. ¿Qué ideas has querido capturar y mostrar a lo largo de tu carrera con tu arte musical y característico?

- No estoy seguro de entender esta pregunta, pero siempre quise ser honesto y transparente, especialmente en la era del Rock Industrial. Era muy crudo y transparente en el sentido de mi contenido lírico y lo que me inspiró, etc. En cuanto a los períodos de "Dungeon Synth", diría que Mortiis era mucho más original, y nunca tuve una "agenda" aparte que la creación de música atmosférica, y en los últimos años he trabajado bastante duro para convertirlo en un espéctaculo en directo genial cuya atmósfera se pueda interpretar bien.

- Actualmente estoy trabajando en mucha música, un proyecto con Stephan Groth de Apoptygma Berzerk es uno de ellos ... por supuesto, hay una gira europea anunciada con Mayhem en otoño.
